| For
the 5th annual tournament the Mavs returned to Southern California
where it all started. This time the tournament was held at
Saddleback Lanes in Mission Viejo. Everyone gathered on a busy
July 9th Saturday afternoon to bowl for the gold pin. This year
the winner was decided just as it was at the first tournament, the
highest score out of two games.
The first game seemed to be a
warm up game where everyone bowled low. DI was in the
lead with a 155 going into game two and he had all the confidence.
It looked as though the OG's would finally get a title.
In the 2nd game everyone
picked it up. Tom started a game that looked as if he would
catch DI's 155. Then he went on to bowl seven strikes in a row.
By the time he was done, he had the highest score ever in a Maverik
Bowling Tournament with 223.
The Gen vs. Gen game was once
again a close game. The 2nd Gen team was the team to beat with
Tom's 223. But in the end the OG's once again came through led
by Eric's 178. Oddly enough, DI, Jarit, and Leo all bowled a 150
to give the O.G.'s another victory and to remain undefeated in the gen
vs. gen competition. |
